· Spike shoes should be carried with soles facing each other to prevent risk of accidental injury.

A carry bag is strongly recommended.

Spike shoes need to be removed upon completion of the event, before leaving the track or field site.

Failure to observe this rule may result in disqualification.

· An athlete who does not exercise care when wearing spikes or breaches any of the rules, will face a one week suspension of the privilege to wear spikes. If the breach is severe, the athlete may be disqualified from wearing spikes for the remainder of the season. Also, the relevant performance(s) of the athlete may be ruled invalid.

Maximum spike length to be 7mm for track events and 9mm for field events conducted at the State Athletic Stadium.
